Since 1992, the Uckermark Music Weeks have established themselves as a festival of rural soundscapes. Their most characteristic venues are old barns — like this one in Woltersdorf near Casekow. „Folklore in Baroque Music" — Theme and Repertoire

The program „Folklore in Baroque Music" explores an unusual path: the incorporation of folk traditions and folk dances in Baroque composition. Composers of the 17th and 18th centuries regularly drew on folkloric elements — Telemann features Polish dances, Bach includes French and English ones, and Couperin incorporates Spanish and Italian influences. The program follows these threads, bringing the folkloric roots of Baroque music to life.

Casekow and Woltersdorf in the Uckermark

Casekow is a small municipality in the Uckermark district, located east of Schwedt and directly on the Polish border. Woltersdorf is one of the districts of the municipality. The typical Uckermark landscape — expanses, forests, small lakes, historic manor houses — provides an ideal setting for the festival concept.

Festival Context 2026

The 2026 edition of the Music Weeks runs from August 1 to 23 and includes over 22 concerts in the Uckermark. New venues for 2026 are the Hypershale in Templin and Woltersdorf Manor House. Tickets are available via Reservix. Concert in Woltersdorf near Casekow on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
