Triathlon in the Heart of Nuremberg

The DATAGROUP Triathlon Nürnberg is a city triathlon that brings the three disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running into the city center of the Franconian metropolis. Nuremberg is the second-largest city in Bavaria and is located in the Middle Franconia administrative region. The organizer is Deutsche Triathlon gGmbH.

The Course

Swimming takes place in the Wöhrder See, the inner-city body of water on the Pegnitz river. The cycling course leads through Nuremberg's Oststadt, and the running course goes across the Wöhrder Wiesen along the Pegnitz. The grand finale: the finish line is directly on the Hauptmarkt, the central square of the old town with the famous Schöner Brunnen and the Frauenkirche.

Competitions for Everyone

The program includes several distances and formats: Sprint distance, short distance, a para competition for athletes with disabilities, and a relay competition where teams divide the three disciplines among themselves. This makes the event suitable for both competitive athletes and beginners and hobby teams.

A Growing Sports Event

The triathlon has quickly established itself since its introduction. The most recent editions were sold out with several hundred to over 900 participants. Thousands of spectators line the course, creating an exciting atmosphere, especially in the finish area on the Hauptmarkt.

Sport and City Experience

The DATAGROUP Triathlon Nürnberg combines mass sports with the experience of the historic old town. For many participants, the run through the backdrop of the medieval city center is the highlight of the competition.
