About TonArt Concert Klosterreichenbach
TonArt Concert Klosterreichenbach — edition 2026
Program 2026 — TonArt and Encounter
The 2026 concert follows the proven structure: around 90 minutes of music in the church nave, followed by a gathering in the Klosterhof. The program will be complemented by contributions from the current TonArt choir project with the French partner choir "Erato" from Nogent-le-Rotrou — the musical engagement with Baiersbronn's French partner town is one of the declared goals of the TonArt season 2026.
The exact setlist will be published shortly before the concert on mgv-klosterreichenbach.de — as experience shows, it will include 15–20 pieces from the TonArt repertoire, including a cappella classics and new studies from the 2025/26 season.

TonArt — the mixed choir project from Klosterreichenbach
TonArt is the mixed choir of the Männergesangverein (MGV) Klosterreichenbach e.V. — one of the most traditional associations in the upper Murg Valley of the Northern Black Forest. While the actual MGV cultivates a classic male repertoire, TonArt specializes in four-part a cappella arrangements of modern genres: jazz, rock, pop, spirituals, gospels, and Latin — with occasional witty new compositions that keep the repertoire fresh.
The Münsterkirche St. Gregor — a historic concert venue
The Münsterkirche St. Gregor in Klosterreichenbach is one of the oldest Romanesque churches in the Northern Black Forest. It dates back to the Benedictine monastery founded in 1085 as a daughter priory of the Hirsau Abbey. The simple stone walls, the Gothic chancel vault, and the acoustic clarity make it a valued concert venue — especially for choral music, whose sound unfolds fully in the nave. TonArt uses this space as the annual home for its main concert.
Program and sound world
TonArt's repertoire includes classic a cappella arrangements of well-known songs from pop and rock — from the Beatles to Sting to modern hits — combined with classic spirituals and gospels (“Swing Low”, “Down by the Riverside”), jazz standards, and occasional Latin pieces. In addition, there are humorous original compositions and occasional pieces by the friendly men's ensemble Klosterreichenbach. The concert usually lasts around 90 minutes plus an intermission.
Gathering in the Klosterhof — the tradition after the concert
After the concert in the Münsterkirche, the MGV traditionally invites guests to the Klosterhof — the historic inner courtyard of the former monastery. Here, drinks and snacks are served by the association's own catering, offering opportunities for conversation with singers and choir directors, and the informal sociability that is typical of Klosterreichenbach's club culture. This gathering in the Klosterhof is part of the concert evening and, for many visitors, the actual highlight.
Klosterreichenbach and Baiersbronn
Klosterreichenbach is one of the nine districts of Baiersbronn — the largest municipality in Germany by area in the Northern Black Forest. With its former monastery and Münsterkirche, the village forms a cultural anchor. Baiersbronn is primarily known for its Michelin-starred gastronomy (three three-star restaurants in the municipality) and its typical Black Forest hiking culture — the TonArt concert can be perfectly combined with a Black Forest weekend.
