The largest integrative family sports festival in Ostwestfalen at Maspernplatz Paderborn
The Integrative Sports Festival “Together in Motion” is one of the central inclusion events in Ostwestfalen's sports calendar. Goal: Sports, games, and movement for all ages and abilities — explicitly “with and without disabilities”. The format is not a competition, but a participatory festival with activity stations from various clubs and initiatives. Anyone who wants to play, try things out, or join in is welcome.
In 2025, the 27th edition (November 11, 2025) attracted around 1,600 participants — the 28th edition in 2026 is planned as an even broader family festival.
Important: Bring sportswear and sports shoes. Photography and video documentation will take place (press work, local media coverage).
“Together in Motion” is jointly supported by:
The presenting partner is Volksbank Paderborn. An exemplary collaboration of various structures — sports clubs, youth work, promotion of physical activity, regional economy — for a common inclusion format.
The Sports Centre at Maspernplatz is Paderborn's central city sports arena — multi-purpose hall, outdoor sports fields, ice rink in close proximity. Located close to the city centre, easily accessible by public transport, with ample parking. In November 2026, it will be the venue for one of the warmest and most inclusive days of the year in the Paderborn district.
Paderborn (around 152,000 inhabitants) is the largest city in Ostwestfalen and the district town of Paderborn. Known for its Carolingian Palatinate and the High Cathedral (bishop's seat), the University of Paderborn, and its strong sports scene — SC Paderborn 07 in football, several Olympians from regional clubs. The combination of a university, sports-focused medium-sized businesses, and committed clubs makes Paderborn one of Ostwestfalen's focal points for integrative sports projects.
The sports festival is part of a growing NRW-wide commitment to inclusive sports. The North Rhine-Westphalia Disabled Sports Association (BRSNW) explicitly supports the format. 28 years of continuity (since the late 1990s) represent a remarkable tradition in the German inclusion sector — Paderborn is one of the exemplary cases here.

Around 20 sports clubs offer participatory stations: table tennis, boccia, climbing, movement games, wheelchair sports, inclusive dancing, and much more.
