Three days of farmers' market, wine festival, and family program in Hamburg's north
As Niendorf, Lokstedt, and Schnelsen head into early autumn, the Tibarg pedestrian zone becomes the stage for one of Hamburg's most beautiful market weekends. The Farmers' Market and Wine Festival on Tibarg combines regional agriculture, wine tasting rooms, and a family program for three days – a proven format that marks the start of the autumn season in Niendorf.
At the heart of the market is the wine festival: vintners from Southern Germany, Alsace, and the Palatinate pour Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Spätburgunder, and Federweißer. It's accompanied by the aroma of Flammkuchen – classic bacon and onion, vegetarian options, and sweet Flammkuchen with apple and cinnamon. The setting is relaxed, with an Alsatian rather than Hamburgish atmosphere.
In parallel, farmers from the Hamburg region present their products: honey from the Lüneburger Heide, cheese from Schleswig-Holstein, sausage from their own slaughter, fruit from the Altes Land, free-range eggs. Direct marketing at its finest, without organic wholesale packaging.
Children benefit especially: pumpkin carving, a tractor course with pedal tractors, a bouncy castle, face painting. Highlights include the stagecoach rides with Rhenish-Westphalian draft horses – a rare experience in a Hamburg pedestrian zone.
On Sunday (September 27, 2026), the shops on Tibarg open from 1 PM to 6 PM for an open shopping day. So, if you want to combine market, wine, and shopping, come for the Sunday finale.
The district of Niendorf belongs to the Eimsbüttel district and, with over 40,000 inhabitants, is one of Hamburg's largest districts outside the city center. Tibarg is the central shopping and meeting mile; the adjacent Tibarg Center complements the offerings with indoor shopping. Three days of market and wine turn this axis between Niendorf Nord and Niendorf Markt into a temporary Volksfest (folk festival).
The weekend of September 25 to 27, 2026, transforms Tibarg in Hamburg-Niendorf into a mix of farmers' market, wine festival, and family program for the third time. The organizer is Stadt + Handel City- und Standortmanagement BID GmbH.
On the pedestrian zone, there will be wine stalls from Southern Germany, Alsace, and the Palatinate, as well as regional farmers from the Hamburg area with honey, cheese, sausage, and fruit from the Altes Land. On Sunday, the shops on Tibarg will be open from 1 PM to 6 PM (open shopping Sunday).
