Club Festival in the Market Town of Thüngen

The summer festival of the Thüngen Volunteer Fire Brigade is a traditional village summer festival, organized voluntarily by the active members of the brigade. It has been taking place for years on a July weekend on the Planplatz, the central event location of the market town of Thüngen.

Thüngen in the Werntal Valley

The market town of Thüngen is located in the Main-Spessart district in the state of Bavaria, on the lower reaches of the Wern river between Karlstadt and Werneck. With just under 1,500 inhabitants, Thüngen is a typical Franconian wine village, characterized by the castle of the Barons von Thüngen and a vibrant club life. The Volunteer Fire Brigade, alongside sports and music clubs, is one of the most important pillars of village community life.

Festival Atmosphere on the Planplatz

The Planplatz – located in the town center – offers the ideal setting for an open-air summer festival. Beer benches under marquees, tapped beer from Lower Franconian breweries, Franconian sausages from the charcoal grill, and homemade salads are the focus. On Sundays, there is a traditional 'Frühschoppen' (morning pint) with lunch and coffee and cake in the afternoon.
