Traditional festival of the Volunteer Fire Brigade in the Palatinate wine village of Siebeldingen on the Südliche Weinstraße
The Siebeldinger Feuerwehrkerwe is the traditional village fair, organized by the local fire brigade. From June 12 to 14, 2026, the wine village's festival grounds will transform into a Palatinate Kerwe (kirchweih/fair) with catering, live music, and conviviality. The proceeds will benefit the volunteer work of the Siebeldingen Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Siebeldingen is located in the heart of the Südliche Weinstraße, between Landau and Annweiler, at the entrance to the Trifels valley. The village is not only a wine-growing community but also home to the renowned Julius Kühn Institute for Grape Breeding Geilweilerhof. For decades, the Feuerwehrkerwe has been a firm fixture in the festival calendar and a meeting point for residents and visitors from the Trifelsland region.
The Siebeldingen Volunteer Fire Brigade organizes the Kerwe independently. The members organize the drinks service, kitchen, stage program, and logistics. The proceeds go towards the purchase of equipment, youth work, and training and further education. Thus, the Kerwe is not only a celebration but also an important source of income for the brigade.
The Siebeldinger Kerwe follows the classic Palatinate Kerwe tradition: tapping of the first keg on Friday, festival tent operation with dance music on Saturday evening, and a morning pint with brass music on Sunday morning. Palatinate specialties – Saumagen (pig's stomach), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Flammkuchen (tarte flambée), Leberknödel (liver dumplings) – complement the gastronomic offerings. Wine from Siebeldingen vintners is served, as is beer on tap.
The Siebeldingen festival grounds feature a festival tent, drinks service, stage, and food stalls. The atmosphere is familial – residents and visitors from neighboring towns like Birkweiler, Albersweiler, Annweiler, and Landau meet at the tables. Dance music on Saturday evening and a family program on Sunday afternoon characterize the weekend.
Siebeldingen is situated at the entrance to the Trifels valley, framed by vineyards and the Palatinate Forest. The chain of castles comprising Trifels, Anebos, and Scharfenberg forms the scenic backdrop. Visitors to the Feuerwehrkerwe can combine their weekend with a hike to one of the castle peaks or a visit to the Julius Kühn Institute (vineyard demonstration garden).
Classic three-day Palatinate Kerwe with keg tapping on Friday, dance evening on Saturday, and morning pint on Sunday. Family program on Sunday afternoon, festival closing in the evening. The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
