30th Anniversary of the Open-Air Theatre in Gutspark Netzeband
Since 1997, the association Netzeband Kultur e.V. has transformed the historic Gutspark Netzeband – a six-hectare landscape garden in the municipality of Temnitztal on the edge of the Mark Brandenburg – into an open theatre landscape every summer. Three stages, each without a roof or walls, are integrated into the park: the Milchwaldbühne, the Amphitheatre with a stage depth of 150 metres, and the small Märchenbühne. The anniversary year 2026 marks the 30th season – and the programme is accordingly ambitious.
Starting June 19, the season opens with a production of Dylan Thomas' poetic radio play classic "Under Milk Wood" (Director: Jürgen Heidenreich) on the Milchwaldbühne. Performances on Fridays and Saturdays, each at 8:30 PM. Advance tickets from €24.50, box office from €27.
On Sundays at 3 PM, starting July 5, Axel Poike's adaptation of the Grimm classic brings the Märchenbühne to life. Tickets from €18, at the box office from €21.
The opera spectacle "Die Nacht des Schicksals" premieres in the Amphitheatre on July 31. Further performances until August 29, each at 8:30 PM. Advance tickets from €31.50, box office from €35. The highlight of the season is the "Lange Nacht des Theaters" (Long Night of Theatre) on August 29.
On the Märchenbühne, starting July 11, a song recital featuring works by Schubert, Wolf, Schumann, and Loewe presents the repertoire of the Romantic art song tradition.
The Gutspark Netzeband dates back to the 18th century and belongs to the Gut Netzeband estate. Today, it is a listed cultural monument and the heart of local cultural work in the Temnitz administrative district.
The performances take place in (almost) all weather conditions under the open sky. In case of heavy rain, performances are moved to the nearby Temnitzkirche (church).
