Queen Hits in Front of One of Bavaria's Most Beautiful Castle Backdrops
Mespelbrunn Castle in the Spessart is considered one of Germany's most idyllic moated castles – famous from Heinz Rühmann's film "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart". In front of this backdrop, the Räuberland Tourist Association presents a single high-caliber open-air concert in 2026: "The Magic of Queen" with Markus Engelstaedter and band.
Markus Engelstaedter – The Queen Voice
With his four-octave voice, Markus Engelstaedter is considered one of the best Queen performers in Europe. His show is dedicated to the band around Freddie Mercury – without cover clichés, with a great rock band, clean sound, and careful staging.

Open-Air with Seating
The concert takes place in the parking lot/open-air area directly at the castle. There are reserved seats with good visibility from all locations; the concert will take place in all weather conditions. Catering available from 5:30 PM.
Mespelbrunn and the Spessart Nature Park
Mespelbrunn is located in the Aschaffenburg district in Lower Franconia (Bavaria), in the middle of the Spessart Nature Park between Aschaffenburg and Würzburg. The 15th-century moated castle is the landmark of the town and at the same time one of Bavaria's best-known castle open-air stages. The Räuberland Tourist Association uses this backdrop for selected cultural highlights in its summer program.
Magic of Queen Mespelbrunn — edition 2026
"The Magic of Queen" comes to Mespelbrunn Castle on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Markus Engelstaedter, one of Europe's best-known Queen voices, presents with his rock band an evening-filling program of Queen global hits and selected gems.
Catering is available from 5:30 PM, admission is at 7:00 PM, and the concert begins at 8:30 PM. The open-air event takes place in the parking lot/festival grounds directly at the castle and offers reserved seating with good visibility from all positions. In all weather conditions – rain ponchos should be brought along if the weather is uncertain.
The organizer is the Räuberland Tourist Association with the Heimbuchenthal Tourist Information.
