Street Food Weekend in the Westmünsterland — Festival on Borken's Market Square

The Borken Streetfood Drink & Music Festival is one of the newer, urban festival formats in the Borken district — part of the street food wave that has also reached the Westmünsterland region since the 2010s. From June 19th to 21st, 2026, the Borken Market Square will transform into an international food truck mile with a stage program and bar area. The organizer is Streetfood Agentur, which offers this format at several locations in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Borken — District Town in the Westmünsterland

Borken is the district town of the Borken district in the Westmünsterland — a quiet, rural region between Münster and the Dutch border. The town, with around 42,000 inhabitants, has preserved its historic market square and has been using it for festivals and markets for years. The street food festival fits with the urban enhancement of the city center — and brings international cuisine to an otherwise rather Westmünsterland-rural culinary landscape.

Street Food — The Variety

Unlike pure food truck gatherings, the Borken festival combines international cuisine with music and bars to create a weekend festival. Typical stalls from Streetfood Agentur:

• Asian: Bao Buns, Ramen, Sushi-to-go, Banh Mi
• Latin American: Tacos, Quesadillas, Burritos
• Burgers and BBQ: Pulled Pork, Grilled Cheese, Smash Burgers
• Indian/Oriental: Curry Boxes, Falafel, Hummus Wraps
• Sweets: Crêpes, Donuts, Ice Cream, Bubble Waffles
• Vegan/Vegetarian special stalls

Drinks Bar

Specially designed drinks stations with cocktails, craft beer, aperitifs, non-alcoholic drinks. Summer atmosphere on the market square with standing tables and a lounge area.

Live Music

Over the three days, there will be live music on stage — mostly local bands and solo artists, with a jazzy, acoustic, or pop orientation. The program will be communicated via the organizer's channels.

Sunday, June 21st, 2026, is a shopping day in Borken's city center — shops will be open, and the market square will become the festival stage. An attractive combination for family day trips to the Westmünsterland.
