Street Food at Kastellplatz in Moers

Moers, with around 103,000 inhabitants, the district town in the Wesel district (Düsseldorf administrative district), Lower Rhine, will once again be the venue for one of the most important street food events in the western Lower Rhine region in early summer 2026. From June 3rd to 7th, 2026, the central Kastellplatz in Moers' city center will be transformed into a five-day outdoor food court with live music. The organizer is Street Food & Music GmbH in cooperation with the City of Moers.

Food Trucks from Around the World

The concept combines two components: international street food variety and live music / DJ sets. The approximately 30-40 food trucks from around the world cater to all tastes: Korean Bulgogi and Japanese Sushi, Vietnamese Banh Mi and Thai Pad Thai, Argentinian Empanadas and Mexican Tacos, Jamaican Jerk specialties and Caribbean recipes, as well as German classics (Bratwurst, Reibekuchen, fries with sauces). Vegetarian and vegan stalls, sweet specialties (crêpes, stroopwafels, churros) complement the offer.

Live Music and DJs

The stage at Kastellplatz offers a daily music program: Live bands (Rock, Pop, Reggae, Funk) in the early evening, DJ sets until late at night. The music offering is deliberately designed as background entertainment – not as a loud festival stage, but as an atmospheric accompaniment to relaxed street food enjoyment. The exact band list will be announced by the organizer a few weeks before the date on street-food-music.de/moers and on moers.de.

Sunday as Family Day

Sunday, June 7th, 2026, is designed as Family Day. In addition to the food trucks, several stations will open for children: bouncy castle, game stalls, face painting, sand painting workshop, chalk drawing on the square. This makes the festival a relaxed family weekend outing – families from Moers, Duisburg, Krefeld, and the surrounding Lower Rhine area will come specifically on Sunday.

Kastellplatz as a Venue

Kastellplatz is the central city square of Moers – located in front of Moers Castle and the historic town hall. Its cobblestones, surrounding gastronomy, and historical charm make it one of the most beautiful open-air stages on the Lower Rhine. Throughout the year, in addition to the Street Food Festival, the weekly market, the Christmas market, and the Moers Festival (internationally renowned jazz festival on Pentecost weekend) also take place here.

Getting There and Practical Information

Moers is easily accessible by public transport from Duisburg, Krefeld, and Düsseldorf. By train: Moers station (Duisburg-Geldern line), then approx. 800 m walk to the city center. By car: A 40 exit Moers-Mitte, paid parking garages in the city center. Admission to the festival grounds is free.
