Wine Festival in the Retz Valley

The Straßenweinfest Retzstadt is the major summer wine festival of the Lower Franconian municipality of Retzstadt in the Main-Spessart district. Organized by the Musikverein Retzstadt (Retzstadt Music Club), it transforms the Platz der Freundschaft into a convivial meeting point for wine lovers from all over the Franconian Wine Land for three days.

Retzstadt boasts a wine tradition spanning over 1200 years – viticulture in the Retz valley shapes the village to this day. During the Straßenweinfest, vintners and clubs serve Retzstadt wine, complemented by Franconian specialties and a musical program by the music club, whose motto »Musik macht Spaß« (Music is Fun) perfectly captures the exuberant festive atmosphere.

Enjoyment, Music, and Sociability

With wine, Franconian cuisine, and live music under the open sky, the Straßenweinfest is an authentic piece of the Franconian Wine Land's festival culture – supported by the voluntary commitment of the Musikverein and the Retzstadt village community.
