Summer Festival by the Water

The Strandfest Seußen transforms the village pond in Seußen, a district of Arzberg, into a sociable festival ground every year. The three-day festival is organized by the Seußen Volunteer Fire Brigade, combining tradition, volunteer commitment, and community spirit. Beer benches, festive decorations, and the location right by the water create a relaxed, summery atmosphere.

The Raft Race

A special hallmark of the festival is the Sautrogrennen (raft race) on the festival Monday. In this traditional race, participants try to paddle across the village pond in wooden troughs – a humorous, Franconian-Upper Palatinate custom that delights spectators of all ages and causes much merriment by the water.

Three Days of Sociability

Throughout the festival weekend, music, catering with regional food and drinks, and a varied program provide entertainment. The Strandfest is thus much more than just a club festival: it is a social hub that strengthens the village community of Seußen and attracts guests from the entire Wunsiedel district in the Fichtelgebirge.

Fire Brigade and Volunteerism

The festival is supported by the voluntary work of the firefighters. The proceeds benefit the club's activities and ensure the brigade's commitment to fire protection and the common good. The Strandfest thus exemplifies the importance of club life in rural Bavaria.
