Thiersheim is a historically shaped market town in the Wunsiedel district of the Fichtelgebirge (Upper Franconia). With just over 1,600 inhabitants, Thiersheim belongs to the so-called Sechsämterland — a historical administrative unit in the northern Bavarian border region with Saxony and Bohemia. For years, the Bürgerfest has been the marker for the start of summer in the town.

2026 Edition
The market town of Thiersheim and its clubs invite you to the Civic Festival on the market square on the first weekend of July. On Saturday, July 4th, the festival begins with a motorcycle tour through the Fichtelgebirge in the afternoon, followed by the official opening with beer tapping at the market square (4 PM). Live music and culinary offerings from local clubs and restaurateurs will be available into the evening.
Family Sunday
Sunday, July 5th, is entirely family-oriented: ecumenical service at the market square at 9:30 AM, followed by Weißwurst breakfast, lunch, and the traditional children's parade in the afternoon (from 1 PM). Free admission, food and drinks at the stalls.
