Maritime City Festival on the Strelasund
The Stralsund Harbour Days are the major maritime city festival of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The venues are the Harbour Island, the Hansawiese meadow, and the Sundpromenade – places where the city directly borders the water. For several days, Stralsund celebrates its close connection to the Baltic Sea and seafaring here.
Programme on Land and Water
The festival programme is diverse and caters to all age groups:
- several music stages with open-air concerts
- vendor mile with coastal market
- dragon boat races on the Sund
- demonstrations by the sea rescuers
- children's carousel and family programme
- DJ zone and cocktail bar on the harbour island
Thus, sporting competitions, music, culinary offerings, and maritime show demonstrations blend into an atmospheric overall picture.
UNESCO World Heritage Old Town Scenery
The Harbour Days take place against the impressive backdrop of Stralsund's brick old town, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site together with Wismar since 2002. The combination of the historic city and the lively harbour festival is what makes the event so special.
Stralsund Celebrates its Hanseatic Identity
For the Hanseatic city in the Vorpommern-Rügen district, the Harbour Days are one of the summer highlights. With free admission, they invite locals and guests to experience the city's maritime heritage.
