675 Years of Stockach Narrengericht

The 2026 anniversary is an exception in the Fasnacht calendar. The Stockach Narrengericht — documented since 1351 — celebrates its 675th anniversary with an expanded Narrentreffen, making the town the focal point of the Swabian-Alemannic Fasnacht season for three days. The event is organized by the Stockach Narrengericht in cooperation with the Narrenzunft Stockach.

Structurally, the meeting follows the classic three-day format of major Narrentreffen: welcome evening Friday, main procession and star march Saturday, grand parade and Narrengericht trial Sunday. The participation of 49 guilds from Baden-Württemberg, Switzerland, and Further Austria makes this one of the largest Narrentreffen of the season.

• 7:00 PM: #Hästag Opening at Dillplatz — Get-together festival with brass bands, catering in the guild houses
• Traditional tavern Fasnacht in the old town pubs

Saturday, January 24, 2026

• Daytime: Reception of arriving guilds, costume presentations
• 6:30 PM: Star March — the guilds march into the old town in a star formation from three directions
• 7:00 PM: Traditional customs performances in the old town
• Evening: Jester Activities in alleys, halls, and guild houses

Sunday, January 25, 2026

• 9:30 AM: Jester's Service with Archbishop Stephan Burger
• 1:30 PM: Grand Parade of the 49 guilds (approx. 6,000 jesters) through the old town
• 1:45 PM: SWR Live Broadcast of the parade
• Following: Narrengericht Trial against a prominent politician — highlight of the meeting
• Evening: Wind-down in the guild houses

Getting There

Stockach is accessible via the A 98 (Bodenseeautobahn) and the B 14/B 31. By train via the Bodenseegürtelbahn (Stockach station). During the festival days, a park-and-ride system with shuttles is recommended — inner-city traffic restrictions are massive, regular car access to the old town is not possible. Friday, January 23 — Hästag Opening, Dillplatz 7 PM. Saturday, January 24 — Star March 6:30 PM, followed by jester activities in the old town. Admission

Festival wristbands are required for access to main events — 3 to 10 Euros depending on the event part. Available at advance booking offices and at the entrance. Sunday's parade is open to the public, freely accessible along the route.
