Every few years, the entire Starzach municipality in the Tübingen district celebrates its big Starzach-Fest. The special thing about it: it rotates through the sub-districts – in 2026, it's Sulzau's turn, a village directly on the Neckar in the southern foothills of the Schönbuch. After intensive discussions in the municipal council, the 2026 edition has been confirmed with a leaner budget (around 22,000 Euros, without fireworks) and an adapted format: instead of the flood-prone area near the Neckar, the festival will be organized as a street festival in the center of Sulzau. Clubs, the fire department, music associations, and volunteers from all five Starzach sub-districts (Bierlingen, Border, Felldorf, Sulzau, Wachendorf) will ensure three days of festivities with live music, a festival tent, catering, a family program, and many small moments of village conviviality.

Following a municipal council decision, this edition will be held with a reduced budget (approx. €22,000), without fireworks, and as a street festival in the village center – away from the flood-prone Neckar banks. Three days of festivities with club catering, live music, Frühschoppen, and a family program.

The Starzach-Fest 2026 has been confirmed as a street festival in the village center of Sulzau by municipal council resolution – from Friday, July 24, to Sunday, July 26, 2026. The budget has been reduced to around 22,000 Euros, fireworks have been canceled, and the festival area is located outside the flood-prone zone near the Neckar for safety reasons.

The clubs from the five Starzach sub-districts are organizing the program: music associations, fire departments, sports clubs, and church communities will organize the festival tent, catering, stage, live music, Frühschoppen, and the children's program. Getting There

Sulzau is part of the Starzach municipality (Tübingen district) and is located on the Neckar between Horb and Rottenburg. Accessible from the A81 motorway, exit Horb, via the B14. By train to Eyach (Tübingen–Horb line), then bus or taxi.

Admission

Admission to the street festival is free. Food, drinks, and individual events are subject to a charge.
