74th Edition — Light, Music, Drones, and Fireworks in Killesberg Park
The Stuttgart Festival of Lights at Killesberg has a history dating back to before the war. Today, in its 74th edition, it is one of Southern Germany's most renowned light festivals and a firm fixture in Stuttgart's summer calendar. The organizer is in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft in cooperation with Stadtwerke Stuttgart – the latter also giving the festival its full name.
The Höhenpark Killesberg in Stuttgart-Nord is one of the state capital's most beautiful parks: 50 hectares of hilly parkland with expansive lawns, the iconic Killesbergturm (Killesberg Tower), a park railway, and garden architecture oriented along sightlines. During the Festival of Lights, the central areas – Killesberg Valley, dance floor, lily pond, themed areas – are transformed into colorful light and soundscapes.
A special feature of the festival is its commitment to sustainability: the entire event is powered by 100% green electricity from Stadtwerke Stuttgart's portfolio. Travel is also encouraged – the combi-ticket includes travel to and from the event using the Stuttgart Transport and Tariff Association (VVS) for the entire network area.
The Festival of Lights attracts a broad audience: families from Stuttgart's north and the Ludwigsburg district, students, tourists, photographers, and light art fans from all over Southern Germany. Travel by public transport is recommended – U-Bahn lines U5/U7 (Killesberg) and trams around the park are the main routes; on-site parking is very limited.
The 74th edition of the Festival of Lights is confirmed for Saturday, July 11, 2026. Admission from 4 PM, festival concludes with the grand show at 10:15 PM.
In 2026, the "Neue 107.7" Live Stage will again play the leading role, complemented by DJ sets and pop/rock acts. Walkable light installations will be created in the Magical Forest and along the park's axes.
A detailed stage schedule and artist lists will be published before the event on stadtwerke-lichterfestival.de.
