Sports festival in the heart of the city

The Stadtlauf Schrobenhausen is one of the most popular sporting events in the Upper Bavarian asparagus town. Unlike pure cross-country runs or marathons, the Stadtlauf deliberately focuses on an urban atmosphere: the start and finish are directly on Rathausplatz, and the course leads through the city center with its medieval city wall and the historic parish church of St. Jakob. Residents and spectators line the route, creating a motivating soundscape.

Distances for every performance level

The concept has proven successful for years: 10 km for ambitious runners, 6 km for solid hobby runners, 4 km for Nordic walking or running beginners, 2 km for pupils and children, and the 500 m toddler run for the very youngest. This means the Stadtlauf covers all age groups — families can participate together, and everyone can find the right distance.

With participant numbers between 500 and 1,000, the run is large enough for a real competition atmosphere, yet small enough to maintain a family-friendly vibe. Previous years confirm the event's stability: 650 finishers in 2019, 526 in 2023, and 614 in 2024.
