Vogelgesang District in Speyer-Süd

The Vogelgesang district is a residential area in the southern part of Speyer with its own identity — primarily a family neighborhood with several schools, daycare centers, and active community life. The Platz der Stadt Ravenna — named after Speyer's Italian partner city — is the central neighborhood square and also the 'Children's Rights Square': a symbolic nod to the district's family-friendly character.

Cooperation: Daycare + Neighborhood Association

The Spring Festival is a collaborative event between two important players in the district — the St. Markus daycare center and the Speyer-Süd Neighborhood Association. The daycare center contributes the children's program and a family perspective, while the association represents the social and cultural life for adults. This partnership creates a festival that appeals to all generations.

Two Program Phases

The festival is clearly structured. From 2 PM, the St. Markus daycare center takes over with a children's program — games, hands-on activities, craft stations, and small stage performances by the kindergarten children. From 5 PM, the Speyer-Süd Neighborhood Association takes over the program and continues it into the evening.

10th Anniversary of the Neighborhood Association

The 2026 edition has a special occasion: the 10th anniversary of the Speyer-Süd Neighborhood Association. A look back at ten years of association work is planned — highlighting neighborhood festivals, initiatives, and activities that have strengthened community cohesion. A carousel for children, football darts, and information booths from association members will characterize the afternoon.

Evening Program with 'akustik-element'

From 6 PM, the evening program begins with a wheel of fortune and the band 'akustik-element'. The band plays acoustic cover music from several decades — from the 60s to the present. Classics of pop and rock history are presented in acoustic arrangements. It's a program for all generations — from parents to grandparents, everyone will find their songs.
