Traditional town festival in the Ore Mountains
The small Ore Mountains town of Oederan in the Mittelsachsen district cultivates a vibrant event year, in which the Stadtfest holds a firm place. Between the historic market square, the narrow alleys of the old town, and the traditional weaving mill, stage music, regional crafts, and gastronomy blend into a weekend full of atmosphere.
On the market square, local bands, clubs, and dance groups provide a varied stage program. Traders from the Ore Mountains offer arts and crafts, culinary specialties, and souvenirs, while showmen with rides and game stalls particularly delight the children.
Oederan is one of the traditional communities in the Ore Mountains and knows how to create occasions for celebration throughout the year: the multi-week AlleWeltZelt on the market square in June, the Glitzernacht, the Oederaner Familientag, and not least the cozy Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) in December. The Stadtfest fits seamlessly into this series – as a summer community festival that brings together locals and guests from the entire Mittelsachsen district and beyond.
Oederan is known beyond the region for the historic cloth-making mill Die Weberei as well as for the unique open-air museum Klein-Erzgebirge, which showcases the charm of the region in miniature. Visitors to the Stadtfest can ideally combine their stay with a detour to these attractions – an excursion that brings the identity of this small but proud town in the state of Saxony to life.
The 2026 Stadtfest Oederan will be part of the Ore Mountains town's rich event calendar, which includes the AlleWeltZelt, the Oederaner Familientag on June 20th, and the Glitzernacht on June 20th/21st. As in previous years, you can expect live music, regional specialties, stalls from local clubs, and a program for the whole family on the market square and in the town center.
The detailed program for 2026 will be published in good time before the festival on the Oederan town website and in the official event calendar. Based on experience, the program includes:
