Ceremony in a Brandenburg Farmer's Town

Müncheberg in the Märkisch-Oderland district is a small town about 60 km east of Berlin, a historical center of the region between the Berlin commuter belt and the Oderbruch. The town sees itself as a farmer's town with a rich tradition and uses the city festival every year as a central identity event for its club life.

Program around the Market Square

The city center opens up for a weekend in June: main stage on the market square, market stalls in the surrounding streets, carousels and amusement rides on neighboring squares, catering stands from clubs in the courtyards. Dance and music groups, cover bands, showman's businesses, and a children's program alternate. The city festival often also integrates a market for direct marketers from the region — a symbiosis of city festival and farmers' market.

Organized by the Business Association

The organizers are the Müncheberg Business Association together with the city administration and local clubs. The Business Association maintains its own Facebook page, where the current program is continuously communicated; the official city tourist information at touristinfo-muencheberg.de also bundles the dates.

Märkisch-Oderland as the Hinterland

Müncheberg belongs to the Märkisch-Oderland district, which extends from the outskirts of Berlin to the Oder River. The city festival is one of the central summer events in the region — alongside the Buckow Rose Festival, the Buckow Fish Festival, and the various village festivals of the rural communities between the Märkische Schweiz and the Oderbruch.
