Annual town festival of the mining town in the Ore Mountains
Ehrenfriedersdorf is a mining town with a long history: Tin ore mining has been carried out here since the 13th century, followed later by other mineral deposits. This mining tradition shapes the town to this day β the town festival reflects its civic character and brings the population together in the town center for a common celebration.
Live music forms the core program β bands from the region, sometimes also national guests. For children, activities, carousels, and hands-on stations offer entertainment. Food and drinks are available at stalls and in local restaurants, offering regional specialties.
Ehrenfriedersdorf is located in the Erzgebirgskreis district (AGS 14521), state of Saxony, in the central Ore Mountains between Annaberg-Buchholz and Chemnitz. The town, with around 4,500 inhabitants, thrives on its tourist significance β the "Zinngrube" visitor mine is one of Saxony's most important mining attractions.
The 2026 town festival continues the successful format: live music, family activities, gastronomy, and conviviality will characterize the festive day. The exact program details will be announced by the town administration.
