The Solingen Spring Fair — 10 Days at Weyersberg
The Spring Fair at Weyersberg is Solingen's most important spring Volksfest (popular festival). From March 20th to 29th, 2026 – for 10 days – showmen will set up their rides and stalls on the festival grounds at the Klingenhalle on Weyersberg in Solingen-Mitte. The grounds have been closed for setup since March 16th – the preparation is a major undertaking.
Daily Opening Hours
- Weekdays and Saturday: 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
- Sundays: from 12:00 PM
This late start is typical for a Kirmes (fair): the showmen's business only starts when schools are out and families can arrive. Those who want to experience the fair in a quieter atmosphere should come on weekdays around 2 or 3 PM.
Family Day Wednesday — The Smart Choice
Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 is Family Day with reduced prices – almost every ride offers discounted rates, often 50 percent cheaper than on weekends. Families with multiple children can save significantly. It's a marketing initiative that has become a tradition and makes the middle of the fair economically attractive.
Fireworks on Saturday, March 28th
The visual highlight: on Saturday, March 28th, 2026, there will be a fireworks display over the festival grounds in the evening. It marks the climax before the last day of the fair and is visible from the surrounding districts of Solingen.

Solingen — The "City of Blades" in the Bergisches Land
Solingen, with around 160,000 inhabitants, is the "City of Blades" – world-renowned for Solingen steel, knives, scissors, and blades. The city is located in the southern Bergisches Land region, east of Düsseldorf. Solingen-Mitte, with the Weyersberg festival grounds, is the heart of the large town. The Spring Fair has a long tradition – even if the exact number of editions isn't prominently communicated, it's a fixture on the city's festival calendar.
Parking and Arrival
The Weyersberg parking lot is closed during the fair itself – so it cannot be used for arrival. Public transport or other parking options are recommended: Bus lines 681, 683, S7 with stops around Weyersberg.
