Three-day club festival at the Krayenberg Stadium – Football, Volleyball, Public Viewing
Kieselbach is now a district of the Krayenberg municipality, which merged in 2013, in the Wartburg District. The namesake Krayenberg is a hill in the Werra Valley – known for its archaeological history and its castle ruins. The Krayenberg Stadium is located at the foot of this striking mountain and serves as the venue for the annual sports festival.
The local Kieselbach Sports Club has been organizing the festival for many years. Unlike pure football festivals, the Sportfest also features a volleyball tournament on Sunday – an offering that makes the festival attractive to non-football fans as well.
The 2026 program begins on Friday with the traditional «Turnier der Edlen Herren» (Tournament of Noble Gentlemen) – a competition for older club members. Saturday features the big amateur football tournament, extended by an after-party and public viewing of the group match Germany – Ivory Coast of the 2026 Football World Cup. Sunday focuses on youth games and the volleyball tournament.
The organizer is the Kieselbach Sports Club. The Krayenberg Stadium is the central venue for the three-day festival. Catering is provided by the club, with a festival tent on site.
Detailed program available via the Krayenberg municipality (krayenberggemeinde.de).
