The Sportfest Kieselbach is the annual club festival of the Kieselbach Sports Club at the Krayenberg Stadium. From June 19 to 21, 2026, football and volleyball tournaments will take place, complemented by public viewing of the Football World Cup (Germany – Ivory Coast). The «Turnier der Edlen Herren» (Tournament of Noble Gentlemen) opens the festival, a volleyball tournament on Sunday rounds off the sporting weekend. Nestled in the Werra Valley of the Wartburg District and the Krayenberg municipality, the Sportfest offers a classic village festival program.

Kieselbach in the Shadow of the Krayenberg

Kieselbach is now a district of the Krayenberg municipality, which merged in 2013, in the Wartburg District. The namesake Krayenberg is a hill in the Werra Valley – known for its archaeological history and its castle ruins. The Krayenberg Stadium is located at the foot of this striking mountain and serves as the venue for the annual sports festival.

Kieselbach Sports Club – Organizer of the Festival

The local Kieselbach Sports Club has been organizing the festival for many years. Unlike pure football festivals, the Sportfest also features a volleyball tournament on Sunday – an offering that makes the festival attractive to non-football fans as well.
