The Spectaculum Panduri is the historical Pandur festival of the border town Waldmünchen in the Cham district of the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria, directly on the border with the Czech Republic. Accompanying the traditional Trenck-Festspiele, the Waldmünchen Stadtpark is transformed into an authentic historical military camp.
In the Time of Pandur Captain Trenck
The focus is on camp life during the era of the notorious Pandur captain Franz von der Trenck (1742), whose story has been brought to the stage for decades by the open-air play 'Trenck the Pandur before Waldmünchen'. Historical groups showcase camp life, crafts, weapons, and firing demonstrations, reviving the era of the War of the Austrian Succession on the Bavarian-Bohemian border.

Spectaculum Panduri — edition 2026
The Spectaculum Panduri 2026 will be held from July to August 2026, accompanying the Trenck-Festspiele. In Waldmünchen's Stadtpark, an authentic historical military camp from the era of Pandur captain Trenck (1742) will once again be recreated. The event will feature an atmospheric medieval market, show combats and fencing demonstrations, spectacular equestrian games, jugglers and travelling musicians, as well as a dedicated children's programme. The performances of the open-air play 'Trenck the Pandur before Waldmünchen' begin at 7:30 PM on performance days. The exact dates will be announced by the organiser, Trenckfestspiele Waldmünchen e.V.

Getting There
Waldmünchen is located in the Cham district of the Upper Palatinate, near the Czech border, accessible via the B22 / B85 from Cham. The Stadtpark is located close to the town centre.
