Pentecost Festival in the Bavarian Forest
The Geiersthaler Wald- und Sportfest has been organized by SV Geiersthal 1966 e.V. for decades and is one of the fixed Pentecost dates in the Arberland, the tourist region around the Großer Arber in the Bavarian Forest. The venue is the club's sports grounds in the municipality of Geiersthal in the Regen district.
Festival Tent, Brass Music, and Delicacies
A festival tent is set up on the sports grounds over the Pentecost weekend, where brass band music, hearty Lower Bavarian delicacies, and freshly tapped beer ensure a proper Volksfest atmosphere. The festival combines club life, tradition, and conviviality – typical for the Volksfeste in the Bavarian Forest, which are supported by voluntary commitment.
A Festival with a Long Tradition
The Wald- und Sportfest looks back on a long history; in 2025, the 56th edition already took place. For SV Geiersthal, the festival is not only a social highlight but also an important pillar of club life. Pentecost Monday traditionally concludes with a special program item.

Forest and Sports Festival Geiersthal — edition 2026
The 2026 edition is the 57th Geiersthaler Wald- und Sportfest and will take place over the Pentecost weekend from Friday, May 22, to Pentecost Monday, May 25, 2026, on the sports grounds of SV Geiersthal 1966 e.V. (Felburger Straße 12). In the festival tent, guests can expect brass band music, hearty Lower Bavarian delicacies, and freshly tapped beer. Pentecost Monday traditionally concludes with a special program item. SV Geiersthal will announce the exact festival program before the event. Admission is free.
