Open-air series by DIN-EVENT GmbH at the Burgtheater Dinslaken
In 2020, "Sommerkultur" was launched as the summer umbrella brand of DIN-EVENT GmbH — and has since developed into the main cultural axis of the city of Dinslaken during the summer. The venue is the historic Burgtheater open-air stage, built in 1934 and still one of the most beautiful open-air venues in the Lower Rhine region with its characteristic semi-circular layout and over 1,600 seats around the stage.
Each year, the series brings together a crossover programme: German-language pop, classic rock, jazz, comedy, cabaret, and classical music alternate. In 2026, the lineup includes Mo Torres (Cologne pop), Tom Gaebel (big band swing), Helge Schneider (multi-talent), Herman van Veen (chansonnier from the Netherlands), Annett Louisan (pop chanson), as well as comedy acts like Frau Jahnke.
The Burgtheater was inaugurated in 1934 as one of the first open-air theatres in the Lower Rhine region and has been an integral part of Dinslaken's cultural landscape ever since. Its central location on Althoffstraße in the Stadtkern district makes it easily accessible. With around 70,000 inhabitants, Dinslaken is a medium-sized city in the Wesel district — part of the Lower Rhine region in North Rhine-Westphalia, characterized by the Rhine, the Lippe river, and an active cultural scene between the Ruhr area and the Dutch border.
Over one month, more than ten open-air events will take place at the Burgtheater. The series covers the entire spectrum of popular cultural formats — from comedy nights and singer-songwriter concerts to big band performances.
Immediately following is the DIN-Tage Festival (August 28–30, 2026) — a city festival with live music, street food, a children's programme, and a small fair (Kirmes).
The exact artist assignment per date and additional acts will be continuously published on sommerkultur-dinslaken.de.
