A Young Festival with Bayreuth Roots

The Saalmitte Day & Nights Festival (known as the 6* Festival until 2025) is the most important indie and electronic festival in Bayreuth, Bavaria. The organiser is the Bayreuth collective Saalmitte, founded in 2014, which also hosts the Kraut & Rüben Festival in the Wilhelminenaue. In 2021, the collective launched its own series for electronic music with the 6* Festival, which has been continuously evolving – under the new brand name Saalmitte Day & Nights since 2026.

Three Venues, Three Atmospheres

The festival takes place across three Bayreuth venues: the Glashaus for indie concerts on Friday evening, the Schokofabrik – a repurposed industrial area – as a club venue for electronic dance music with workshops and food stalls on Saturday, and the renowned Friedrichsforum for a special concert evening on Sunday. The three locations represent three different atmospheres: concert bar, club, and concert hall.

Indie, Live, DJ, and Workshops

Programmatically, the festival combines indie concerts with electronic dance music – both live and as DJ sets – complemented by workshops, art installations, and culinary offerings. Previous line-ups have included acts such as AGY3NA, Holy Tongue, and YUNGFYA. The collective emphasises a balanced mix of regional acts (Lusja, Höfig, Tobi Rakete, Leon Holstein) and national headliners.

Festival-Priced Tickets

Unlike commercial festivals, ticket prices are deliberately kept low: Festival pass €16.50, single ticket Glashaus or Schokofabrik €11. Saalmitte aims to keep the festival accessible to students and young audiences – Bayreuth, as a university city, is an important target group.

Saalmitte – A Collective for Bayreuth

The Saalmitte collective sees itself not just as an organiser, but as a community platform for independent cultural work in Bayreuth. In addition to the festival, it organises concerts, workshops, open calls for artists, and networking events. The Day & Nights Festival is the annual programmatic highlight of the collective's work.
