Open-air series in the Angerdorf on the Oder riverbank — three summer evenings with music
When the sun sets over the Güldendorfer See and the first notes of the musicians ring out, one of the most relaxed summer evenings you can experience in eastern Brandenburg begins. The Sommerkonzerte Güldendorf are an open-air concert series that the Bürgerinitiative Güldendorf has been organizing for years — and which puts the Güldendorf district of Frankfurt (Oder) in the spotlight every summer.
The concept is clearly structured: three open-air concerts spread throughout the summer, each with its own mood:
The artists and programs vary — from classical to jazz to folk music. In terms of concept, the concerts are small, personal, honest — not for the big stage, but for the village community and its guests.
Güldendorf is a district of the independent city of Frankfurt (Oder), located in the south of the city directly on the Oder riverbank and the Unteres Odertal nature park. The village was first mentioned in 1373 and still retains its character as a well-kept Angerdorf — a rare architectural form with a long strip of green in the village center. The nearby Güldendorfer See is a popular recreational area in the south of Frankfurt. Anyone spending a summer evening here can combine a concert with a walk by the water.
The Bürgerinitiative Güldendorf is a volunteer association that has been shaping the cultural life of the village for years. It not only organizes the summer concerts but also the Festival of Lights in November, the local history society calendar, and smaller village events. This continuity is a prerequisite for a small village like Güldendorf to maintain a vibrant cultural calendar despite its peripheral location.
Frankfurt (Oder) is located about 100 km east of Berlin, on the Polish border. Those spending a day in Frankfurt can plan a visit to the Kleist Museum, the Marienkirche, or a walk across the bridge to Słubice (Poland). Güldendorf can be reached by city bus 980 from the main train station.
The Sommerkonzerte Güldendorf 2026 are a three-concert series by the Güldendorf Citizens' Initiative. The dates are set: July 25, August 15, and September 12, 2026. Each concert takes place as an open-air event in the Angerdorf — either on the village green or at Güldendorfer See.
The concept is family-friendly and emphasizes a personal atmosphere. The concerts are kept small — no mass festival crowds, but rather village community and guests spending a warm summer evening together.
Specific artist lineups will be announced in the weeks leading up to each concert on gueldendorf.de or via posters in the village.
