Güldendorf — Frankfurt's Village on the Oder

Güldendorf is a southern district of the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder) with about 1,200 inhabitants, located directly on the German-Polish border and on the southern foothills of the Oderbruch. The district has retained its village character — agricultural structures, a lively local history association, and a strong tradition of poultry keeping shape the local image to this day.

Eastern Brandenburg's First Poultry Market

The Güldendorfer Kükenmarkt was initiated in 2025 by the Heimatverein Güldendorf — as the first poultry market of its kind in Eastern Brandenburg. The premiere took place on the grounds of the former feed mill barn, one of the central farm complexes of the village, and attracted poultry keepers from the entire Oder-Spree district as well as from the Spreewald. The second edition follows on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The focus is on the animals themselves:

• Chicks of many breeds: Quail, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl.
• Waterfowl such as runner ducks — popular in organic gardening for slug control.
• Accessories: Incubators, coop accessories, feed, drinkers.

In addition to the market itself, the local history association offers a varied accompanying program:

• Talk on species-appropriate poultry keeping and nutrition — also suitable for beginners.
• Bouncy castle for children on the premises.
• Coffee and cake from the association's kitchen.
• Güldendorf honey directly from local beekeepers.
• Meet-and-greet with keepers from the region.

Heimatverein Güldendorf

The Heimatverein Güldendorf organizes the market on a voluntary basis, together with local partners from the poultry and beekeeping scene.
