Poultry and Spring Market in Frankfurt's Güldendorf district
Güldendorf is a southern district of the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder) with about 1,200 inhabitants, located directly on the German-Polish border and on the southern foothills of the Oderbruch. The district has retained its village character — agricultural structures, a lively local history association, and a strong tradition of poultry keeping shape the local image to this day.
The Güldendorfer Kükenmarkt was initiated in 2025 by the Heimatverein Güldendorf — as the first poultry market of its kind in Eastern Brandenburg. The premiere took place on the grounds of the former feed mill barn, one of the central farm complexes of the village, and attracted poultry keepers from the entire Oder-Spree district as well as from the Spreewald. The second edition follows on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The focus is on the animals themselves:
In addition to the market itself, the local history association offers a varied accompanying program:
The Heimatverein Güldendorf organizes the market on a voluntary basis, together with local partners from the poultry and beekeeping scene. The association is also involved in preserving village history, an annual village festival, and cultural events in the former schoolhouse. Contact: [email protected], Phone 0335 4014 271.
The 2nd Güldendorfer Kükenmarkt 2026 will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, by the Heimatverein Güldendorf at the Hof der Futtermittelscheune — the second edition of the first poultry market in Eastern Brandenburg.
Poultry keepers and enthusiasts will meet to buy, sell, and admire chicks of various breeds: quail, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl. A talk on species-appropriate poultry keeping and nutrition complements the market. For families, there will be a bouncy castle, plus coffee and cake from the association's kitchen, and Güldendorf honey directly from local beekeepers.
Detailed times will be announced shortly before the date on gueldendorf.de.
Free admission. Animals and honey are paid for directly in cash on site. Coffee and cake for a small donation.
