Sommerfestival Moosburg

Culture under the open sky

The Sommerfestival Moosburg is the summer open-air series organized by Kultur Moosburg e. V. The venue is the historic square 'Auf dem Plan' in the heart of Moosburg an der Isar's old town, in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising. For five consecutive evenings, the square transforms into an atmospheric open-air stage.

A deliberately mixed program

The festival thrives on its diversity: over the five evenings, choral classics, Bavarian pop and rock, a Queen tribute band, cabaret, and a film music concert come together. The cultural association deliberately focuses on a mix of internationally renowned acts and artists from the region, who perform side by side on one stage.

The fifth edition in 2026

In 2026, the Sommerfestival celebrates its fifth edition and presents itself as a 'Jubilee Mix'. The opening traditionally features a large choral project by Moosburg choirs, followed by cabaret, a tribute concert, dialect pop, and a concluding film music evening by the Moosburg Chamber Orchestra.

Moosburg and the region

Moosburg an der Isar is one of Bavaria's oldest towns and is located in the Freising district, between Munich and Landshut. The medieval old town with its central square 'Auf dem Plan' provides a special backdrop for the festival.
