Wallendorf (Luppe) is a district of the municipality of Schkopau in the Saalekreis district – a village in the Saale-Elster-Luppe floodplain, located about 15 kilometers south of Halle (Saale). It is known not only for its charming location in the river valley but also for its old village club culture, which has remained vibrant here despite its proximity to the big city.

One Club, One Festival, One Weekend

The summer festival is organized by the Heimatverein Wallendorf (Luppe) e.V., a community association based at the sports ground. The two-day summer festival – traditionally held on a weekend in June – is one of its most important projects and, at the same time, the central meeting point for the village community. Families from Wallendorf, Schkopau, neighboring Merseburg, and even from Halle travel to spend two summer days at the sports ground.

Program in Classic Village Festival Style

The program follows the typical choreography of a summer festival in the Saalekreis: opening in the morning, coffee and homemade cake, children's activities (bouncy castle, craft stations, playground), catering with sausages and drinks, and club demonstrations or music in the afternoon. The second day continues in a similarly relaxed manner, often with a cozy morning pint (Frühschoppen). Admission is free – proceeds from stand sales benefit the local club activities.
