About Sommerfest Odelzhausen
Sommerfest Odelzhausen — edition 2026
As every year, the Sommerfest Odelzhausen focuses on a clear, family-friendly setting: from 4 p.m., the town hall and village square fill up with association stands, the sound of local bands echoes from the stage, and children populate the play area. The municipal administration takes on the organizational lead, while around 30 local associations provide the content and catering.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, stage performances, association presentations, and general festival activities alternate. The detailed program schedule will be published shortly before the date on the Odelzhausen municipality's website.

Community Festival in the Heart of Odelzhausen
The Sommerfest der Gemeinde Odelzhausen takes place every year in June around the town hall and the adjacent village square. In 2026, the festival falls on Saturday, June 27, starting at 4 p.m. The event is organized by the municipality of Odelzhausen, in cooperation with local associations, schools, and kindergartens.
Program Featuring Associations and Families
As with most community festivals in Upper Bavaria, the program consists of several elements: Association stands present their work and provide food and drinks; a stage offers performances by local music bands, dance groups, and children from schools and kindergartens; a children's area with games and a bouncy castle invites families. In the evening, a live band typically takes over, and the festival concludes in the festival tent.
Odelzhausen in Dachauer Land
Odelzhausen is a municipality with around 5,500 inhabitants in the Dachau district, about 35 km west of Munich, easily accessible via the A8 motorway (Odelzhausen exit). Its location between the Dachau Moos and the hills of the Upper Bavarian pre-Alpine region makes it a typical residential town in the commuter belt of the state capital – with an active community life, which becomes particularly visible at the summer festival.
Character of a "Real" Community Festival
Unlike the large Volksfests (popular festivals) in the region (Aiblinger Pfingstvolksfest, Fürstenfelder Volksfest, etc.), the Sommerfest Odelzhausen is not a mass event, but a classic family festival: compact, regional, and volunteer-driven. Anyone looking for an authentic Bavarian village festival experience in the Munich commuter belt will find it here.
