Tradition Meets Party Night

Kusterdingen, on the edge of the Swabian Jura in the Tübingen district, is home to a vibrant club life. The Musikverein Kusterdingen e.V., with 248 members and 98 active musicians, is at its heart. Its brass band rehearses every Monday evening, with a repertoire ranging from traditional folk music to symphonic wind compositions. The club's Sommerfest is one of the social highlights of the Kusterdingen year. In 2026, the event will take place from July 24th to 26th on the festival grounds on Jahnstraße.

Friday, July 24th — Partynacht in Tracht

The event kicks off on Friday evening at 7:00 PM with the “2nd Partynacht in Tracht”. After the surprising success of its premiere two years ago, the music club has revived the format — Lederhosen, Dirndl, and good cheer are the order of the day. The headliner is the band ALLGÄU POWER, a well-established Schlager and party band in Southern Germany known for getting the audience dancing. Bavarian, Swabian, and Austrian classics alternate with modern hits. A DJ will continue the party late into the night after the live band.

Saturday and Sunday — Classic Sommerfest

Saturday, July 25th, and Sunday, July 26th, will feature the classic Sommerfest program. On Saturday evening, the club's brass band will perform, joined by guest bands from neighboring communities — Mössingen, Reutlingen, Tübingen-Hagelloch. Sunday begins with the traditional Frühschoppen concert starting at 11:00 AM, followed by lunch and an afternoon program. The atmosphere is family-friendly, with many club members serving — from the board to the young musicians.

Swabian Specialties

The culinary offerings focus clearly on regional classics: Maultaschen in broth or fried, Käsespätzle, Schäufele with sauerkraut, Black Forest trout, Swabian potato salad, grilled Bratwurst. For dessert, there's apple strudel, Zopf bread with raisins, and Black Forest gateau from the women's club's kitchen. Drinks include draft beer, local wines from Tübingen-Hagelloch, as well as non-alcoholic beverages and coffee.

Musikverein Kusterdingen — A Club Portrait

With nearly 250 members, the Musikverein Kusterdingen is one of the larger music clubs in the Tübingen area. In addition to the main orchestra, there is a youth band, a pre-orchestra group for the youngest, and various ensemble formations. The club is committed to musical education — many Kusterdingen children receive their first instrumental lessons here. The Sommerfest is therefore not only a club festival but also an important source of income for youth work.
