Sommerfest KG Kleffbotze 2026 — Carnival in High Summer

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 3 PM, the Karnevalsgesellschaft Kleffbotze e.V. from Bad Godesberg will open its summer festival at Klufterplatz in Bonn-Friesdorf. Carnival societies in the Rhineland tradition are more than just session clubs — they are year-round community actors, and the summer festival is a sign that the Kleffbotze are present for their neighborhood even in high summer.

What is a Kleffbotze?

The name "Kleffbotze" is deeply rooted in the Friesdorf dialect — a self-designation for the people of Friesdorf, bringing a piece of identity into the carnival. The society cultivates the traditional connection of Bonn-Friesdorf — sessions in halls, carnival parade on Rose Monday, and this very summer festival at Klufterplatz.

Klufterplatz — Friesdorf's Central Event Space

The Klufterplatz with the adjacent Frankengraben is the central public space in the Bonn district of Friesdorf, a part of Bad Godesberg. The Advent market, May Day events, and other neighborhood festivals also take place here. In summer, the square with its adjacent green area is ideal for an open-air family festival with a festival tent, live music, and a cozy canteen.
