Siegerländer Turnschau

Over 140 Years of Gymnastics Tradition

The Siegerländer Turnschau is the annual show event of the Siegerland Turngau e.V. 1886 — one of the oldest and largest gymnastics associations in North Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 1886. Over 60 clubs from the Siegerland and southern Sauerland regions are organized within the association, with tens of thousands of members.

Date and Venue 2026

Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Siegerlandhalle Siegen, the city's largest event hall with seating for several thousand spectators. The performance area is the central hall floor with stage technology, light show, and multiple apparatuses simultaneously.

What the Turnschau Showcases

The Turnschau is not a competition event, but a stage show — the clubs present what they have worked on throughout the year:

• Artistic Gymnastics — floor, high bar, parallel bars, balance beam, vault — from beginners to advanced performers
• Rhythmic Sports Gymnastics — ribbons, hoops, balls, clubs
• Dance Formations — Modern Dance, Hip-Hop, Show Dance, Garde
• Acrobatics Ensembles — Sports acrobatics with lifts, human pyramids
• Rhönrad Teams — the TG Friesen club has a particular focus on this
• Show Teams — modern hybrid forms with choreography, music, costumes
• Traditional and contemporary gymnastics performances

Impressive Choreographies

What makes the Turnschau special: the level is surprisingly high. Many performers are active competitive athletes at regional or North Rhine-Westphalia level, some are connected to national championships. The choreographies are rehearsed over months and presented with light shows, stage costumes, and selected soundtracks at a professional level.

Grand Family Evening

The Turnschau traditionally attracts a broad audience: parents, grandparents, and friends of the active participants, as well as many sports enthusiasts and former gymnasts. A family atmosphere, refreshments during intermissions at club stands, and for many young participants, one of the most important performances of the year.

Siegerland Gymnastics Association and Siegen

Siegen is the largest city in Southwestphalia and a university city with around 105,000 inhabitants. The Siegerlandhalle is the most important event venue in the region — also hosting concerts, sporting events, and conferences. Its location in the Siegerland — hilly, tradition-conscious, sports-enthusiastic — also shapes the character of the gymnastics association.
