Spectacular fireworks and festival night on Lake Titisee in the Hochschwarzwald
The Seenachtsfest am Titisee is one of the most famous summer festivals in the Hochschwarzwald — a festival night right on the shore of the renowned Titisee lake, culminating in spectacular fireworks launched from the lake over the water surface and surrounding mountains. In 2026, the festival takes place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 — program hours from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The organizers are Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH and the City of Titisee-Neustadt.
The festival grounds extend along Seestraße and the lake's shore. This central axis — already the town's tourist hotspot in summer — transforms into a festival mile with stages, stalls, food stands, bars, and attractions. The Ferris wheel is one of the main attractions, offering panoramic views of the lake, the Black Forest mountains, and the illuminated festival grounds.
The highlight of the festival is the spectacular fireworks display shortly after dark (around 10:30 PM in July). Launched from the lake, the light effects are mirrored on the water — a double spectacle between sky and water. The surrounding Black Forest hills amplify the acoustic impact of the detonations. Thousands of visitors line the shore and Seestraße for the fireworks climax.
During the day (from 4:00 PM), the family program dominates: children's carousels, bouncy castles, play stations, walking acts, face painting. Live music on one or more stages creates a summer atmosphere — cover bands, folk, Schlager, regional artists. In the evening (after dark), the crowd shifts more towards adults and teenagers: DJs, cocktail bars, regular bars. Food ranges from bratwurst and fries to Maultaschen and Black Forest specialties, as well as international street food options.
Lake Titisee is one of Germany's most famous lakes — located in the Hochschwarzwald at an altitude of around 850 m, in the municipality of Titisee-Neustadt (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, code 08315). With its picturesque setting between Black Forest fir trees and mountains, the lake is a tourist magnet — for water sports in summer (pedal boats, swimming, surfing), and a postcard motif in winter (when snow-covered). From Titisee station (Höllentalbahn from Freiburg), you can reach the festival grounds in a 5-minute walk.
