Annual summer folk festival celebrating the anniversary of the 350-meter pier
The Graal-Müritz pier is 350 meters long and majestically extends into the Baltic Sea. It was rebuilt in 1992 after over 50 years — the original pier, like many piers on the German Baltic coast, was destroyed in the 1940s. With its re-inauguration in 1992, the seaside resort regained its most important landmark, and since then, the community has annually celebrated the Seebrückenfest at the end of July / beginning of August to mark the anniversary of this rebirth.
The festival takes place on the pier forecourt — the large area at the beach access in front of the pier's entrance. For three days, this area transforms into a bustling festival mile with:
The highlight of the festival is the grand fireworks display on Sunday. When the sun has set over the Baltic Sea and night falls on the beach, the multi-minute fireworks display begins from the beach and partly from the pier. The reflection of the lights on the sea makes the spectacle particularly impressive — thousands of visitors gather on the beach and promenade to watch.
The Seebrückenfest is the most important summer event for the seaside resort and attracts visitors from the entire Rostock district, Berlin, Hamburg, and Brandenburg. Hotels and guesthouses are fully booked during this time. The event is organized by the Tourismus- und Kur GmbH Graal-Müritz in cooperation with local associations and businesses.
In 2026, the seaside resort of Graal-Müritz once again invites you to the grand Seebrückenfest. For three days, the beach forecourt transforms into a festival mile with live music on multiple stages, a dance floor, food trucks, and family entertainment.
As every year, the grand fireworks display on Sunday evening provides a spectacular conclusion — one of the most impressive pyrotechnic events on the Mecklenburg Baltic coast, where the sea is illuminated by the lights.
The complete program with band names and set times will be announced by the Tourismus- und Kur GmbH Graal-Müritz (graal-mueritz.de) a few weeks before the festival.
Free admission. Food and drinks at food trucks and beach stalls at market prices (Bratwurst from €4, Fischbrötchen from €5, beer from €4, ice cream from €2).
