26th Beer Festival and Anniversary Beer Festival for the 80th club anniversary of ASV Waldsee – around 20 types of beer in the Sommerfesthalle
The Waldseer Bierfest in the Sommerfesthalle Waldsee is one of the most popular beer festivals in the Vorderpfalz region. The organizer is the Allgemeine Sportverein Waldsee e.V. (ASV Waldsee), one of the largest sports clubs in the Verbandsgemeinde Rheinauen. The Beer Festival is the club's primary source of income; the proceeds flow into youth work and club activities.
The 26th edition of the Beer Festival in 2026 coincides with the 80th club anniversary of ASV Waldsee. The club was founded in 1946, making it one of the most traditional sports clubs in the Vorderpfalz. For the anniversary, the Beer Festival will be celebrated with extra festivity, an expanded program, and a special creation: the "Jubiläumsperle", a beer punch developed especially for 2026, available only this year.
The heart of the festival is the approximately 20 different types of beer served in the Sommerfesthalle. The selection ranges from classic Pilsner to Hefeweizen, Kellerbier, and Märzen, as well as special craft beer creations. Beer connoisseurs and enthusiasts can sample the range and discover new varieties. The selection is compiled each year in collaboration with regional and national breweries.
ASV Waldsee was founded in 1946 and celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026. The club offers numerous sports – from football to gymnastics, athletics, tennis, and table tennis – and is an important hub for social life in Waldsee. For 26 years, the Beer Festival has been the club's most important event, funding a large part of its activities.
Waldsee is a municipality with around 6,000 inhabitants and belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Rheinauen, along with Altrip and Otterstadt. The municipality is located between Speyer and Ludwigshafen, in close proximity to the Rhine River and its floodplain landscape. This location shapes the identity of Waldsee and its clubs.
The 2026 edition is a double anniversary: 26 years of Beer Festival and 80 years of ASV Waldsee. The Sommerfesthalle transforms into a grand festival tent atmosphere with long beer benches, decorated tables, and a stage. Thousands of guests from Waldsee, Speyer, Otterstadt, Ludwigshafen, and the entire Vorderpfalz region are expected. The club has deliberately enhanced the program to celebrate the anniversary fittingly.
