World premiere in the Black Forest — Para ski elite battles for World Cup victory
With the FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup from January 22 to 23, 2026, Feldberg in the Black Forest is making sports history. It is the world premiere of the Para Ski World Cup on the highest mountain in Baden-Württemberg (1,493 m). Around 60 of the world's best para skiers will compete in three slalom races for six medals — in the categories for visually impaired (B), standing (LW), and sitting (monoski).
The same program runs on both race days: The course opens at 9 a.m., the first run starts at 10 a.m., the second run at 12:45 p.m., followed by the award ceremony at the finish area. The course uses part of the official FIS World Cup piste — the start is at around 1,080 m, the finish at around 940 m. The outrun area offers excellent visibility for spectators who can experience the spectacle up close.
The FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup is the highest international competition class in para ski sports — a direct springboard to the Paralympic Games. The approximately 60 participating athletes come from around 20 nations — from Norway and Switzerland to the USA, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, as well as hosts Germany and Austria. For Feldberg, the world premiere also marks the start of a long-term partnership: the location will become a permanent part of the international competition calendar from 2026 onwards.
Feldberg has been a ski resort and World Cup venue in the Black Forest for decades. With 28 kilometers of pistes, modern lifts, and a snow-sure high altitude, it is one of the largest winter sports centers outside the Alps. Feldbergbahnen GmbH, in cooperation with the German Paralympic Sports Association and FIS, is organizing the premiere event — a major logistical and sporting achievement that offers the para ski world a new, firmly established stage.
Admission for spectators is free. The outrun area offers unobstructed views of the final gates and the award ceremony. Catering is provided by the Feldberger Hof and Bärental mountain huts. Parking is available via the Parkster app in the Herzogenhorn, Grafenmatt, and along the Feldberg Pass between Caritashaus and Seebuck descent.
