About Seebrückenfest
Seebrückenfest — edition 2026
Program 2026
The Seebrückenfest 2026 follows the proven three-day structure. The Seebrückenvorplatz becomes a festival mile, the main stage hosts show acts all weekend, the children's play area offers free activities, the bridge service adds a sacred touch on Sunday morning, and the fireworks on Saturday evening crown the weekend.

Practical information — Seebrückenfest
Getting There
By car via the A21 (exit Stoltenberg), then B502 towards Schönberger Strand. By train to Kiel, then continue by bus or the Schönberg narrow-gauge railway. Parking is available at the beach entrance — caution: heavily frequented during high season.
Admission
Free admission. Food, drinks, and some activities on-site are paid for individually.
Tip for Families
The children's play area offers free activities all day long — a rare setup in the festival landscape. Visiting with small children is best in the early afternoon.
Highlight
The fireworks on Saturday evening usually start between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM. Best spots: directly on the pier or on the beach. Arrive in good time.
A Beach Village Celebrates
Schönberger Strand is one of the most beautiful beach destinations on the Schleswig-Holstein Baltic Sea coast — nestled in Probstei, a rural-maritime region south of the Kiel Fjord. Since 2001, the beach village has celebrated a three-day town festival once every summer, which is now considered the largest family festival in the region. Venue: the spacious Seebrückenvorplatz, directly in front of the iconic Schönberg Pier, which extends about 300 meters into the Baltic Sea.
The Program Concept
Over three days, the Seebrückenfest offers:
- Major Stage Program on the main stage at Seebrückenvorplatz — cover bands, Schlager, pop, tribute shows, local acts
- Children's Play Area with free creative and sporting activities for the whole family
- Bridge Service traditionally on Sunday morning on the pier — a North German beach tradition
- Festival Tent and Food Stalls with North German festival fare — fish rolls, bratwurst, ice cream, cold drinks
- Arts and Crafts and Market Stalls
- Highlight on Saturday Evening — fireworks over the pier and the Baltic Sea with classical music accompaniment
What Makes the Festival Special
The Seebrückenfest differs from many beach town festivals through two elements: the Bridge Service on Sunday morning — an unusually sacred note in an otherwise loud festival, reflecting the traditional importance of sea rescue in the region — and the fireworks, which have become a cult motif with their reflections in the Baltic Sea.
Schönberg in Probstei
Schönberg (Holstein) is a municipality in the Plön district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, on the Baltic Sea coast between Kiel and the Hohwacht Bay. The Probstei — the surrounding region with its rural villages and distinctive agriculture — gives the area its own identity. Schönberger Strand itself is a separate district, offering a classic Baltic Sea resort experience, especially in summer, with its guesthouses, beach chairs, and historic pier.
