80 Years of Club History

SV Hildesia Diekholzen was founded in 1946 in the immediate post-war period – a time when sports clubs emerged all over Germany as places for meeting and communal reorientation. Eight decades later, the club is a fixture in the sports life of the Diekholzen municipality and looks back on a long tradition in football, other team sports, and youth work.

Two Days of Anniversary Celebration

On June 6 and 7, 2026, a two-day festival program will be held in Diekholzen. A large marquee will be the central venue for the ceremonial act, dance evenings, and communal dining. The program will be accompanied by sports events – tournaments, show games, and demonstrations by the club's youth, team, and hobby departments.

Ceremonial Act and Honors

The ceremonial core is the Festkommers (ceremonial act): an official ceremony with speeches, honors for deserving club members, and greetings from politics, sports associations, and friendly clubs. Long-standing members who have been active in the club for decades are the focus. The history of SV Hildesia will be honored retrospectively in words and pictures.

Sports Program

On the occasion of the anniversary, sports events will be organized to showcase the club's various departments. Football tournaments, show games by friendly clubs, demonstrations of other sports, and hands-on activities for children and young people are planned.

Dance Evening and Sociability

In the evenings, the marquee transforms into the social hub of the anniversary. Dance evenings with a live band or DJ attract club members, families, and guests. As with many club anniversaries, the evening together is at least as important as the official ceremony – it creates space for personal conversations and reminiscing about shared club events.

Family Program

There is a special program for children and young people with a bouncy castle, hands-on activities, face painting, and small sports games. The youth departments of SV Hildesia are the focus and showcase the future of the club.

Diekholzen and its Club Landscape

Diekholzen is a municipality in the southern district of Hildesheim, located at the transition to the Innerstetal valley and the Hildesheimer Wald forest. The municipality has a vibrant club landscape, where sports clubs, fire departments, cultural, and social clubs shape community life. SV Hildesia has been one of the most important players in this landscape for decades.
