SEASON Musiksommer is the umbrella under which Binzer Bucht Tourismus GmbH bundles its larger open-air concerts in July and August. The idea: While specialized festivals run in June – the Blue Wave Festival for blues and swing, the Barfußkonzerte (Barefoot Concerts) as a Thursday beach concert series – SEASON Musiksommer bundles the larger pop and rock concerts with chart-level acts. The goal is a mix that appeals to both the summer tourists present and an audience from across Germany who travel specifically for a concert.

What Makes the Music Summer Special

The organizer describes the format itself as »high-quality and varied entertainment in the best holiday atmosphere«. Unlike a classic festival with one headliner per weekend, the program is spread over the two main summer months. Concerts take place at irregular intervals at changing venues in Binz: on the beach promenade, on the Kurplatz, and – for larger acts – at external event locations. The concerts are usually communicated as ticketed events; individual program items may be free open-airs on the Kurplatz.
