Schwabach's grand city festival with live music on Königsplatz and Martin-Luther-Platz — over 100 program items
Schwabach, the Franconian gold-beating city south of Nuremberg, celebrates its largest city festival with the Civic Festival. On the last weekend before the Bavarian summer holidays, the historic old town becomes a festival mile. With over 100 program items on several squares, the festival offers live music, culinary delights, arts and crafts, and entertainment for all generations for three days.
The musical heart of the Civic Festival are the two stages at Königsplatz and Martin-Luther-Platz. Live bands perform on all three evenings starting at 7:30 PM — from blues and rock to pop covers and singer-songwriters. The diversity of the stage programs makes the Civic Festival the musical highlight of Schwabach's summer event season.
The festival is supported by Schwabach's clubs, restaurateurs, and retailers, coordinated by the Schwabach Tourist Association together with the city. Stalls along the alleys offer Franconian delicacies, international cuisine, and drinks, as well as arts and crafts and a children's program. The historic backdrop of the old town with Stadtkirchplatz and the Goldbeater Museum shapes the atmosphere.
