Schützenfest Düsseldorf-Rath — BSV 1925

Rath Shooting Tradition since 1925

The Bürger-Schützenverein 1925 e.V. represents the traditional shooting club life of the Düsseldorf district of Rath (district 6). From August 8 to 11, 2026, the annual Schützenfest will take place on the Rather Broich — the established festival meadow of the shooting club. Four days of tradition, parade, king's shooting, and coronation ball with the entire Rath population as spectators.

The Schützenfest Program

As is customary at Rhineland Schützenfeste, the schedule follows a fixed choreography over four days:

• Saturday, August 8, 2026 — Opening: Marquee opening, first concerts, family program at the fairground
• Sunday, August 9, 2026 — Parade and King's Shooting: Grand parade through Düsseldorf-Rath, reception at the marquee, king's shooting at the shooting range
• Monday, August 10, 2026 — Coronation and King's Ball: Coronation of the new shooting king/couple, evening coronation ball in the marquee
• Tuesday, August 11, 2026 — Wind-down: Family day, closing program in the marquee

The BSV 1925 Companies

The club is divided into several traditional shooting companies:

• Ladies' Shooting Company — dedicated women's shooting
• Junior Shooters — youth company
• Wilhelm Tell — historical company
• Germania — historical company
• Further traditional units with their own uniforms and symbolism

RATH Festival on August 7 — The Eve

On Friday, August 7, 2026, the RATH Festival will take place before the actual Schützenfest: an open musical eve-of-festival party on the Rather Broich, combining the traditional Schützenfest with a modern district festival. Live bands, DJ sets, and culinary stands attract a broader, younger audience to the event series.

Düsseldorf-Rath — District in District 6

Düsseldorf-Rath is a residential and business area in the north of Düsseldorf (district 6), traditionally strongly influenced by Carnival and shooting club traditions. The Rather Broich is a central green space that has served as the festival meadow for the Schützenfest for decades and is suitable for large events with a marquee. The BSV 1925 maintains its own hall and shooting ranges on the Rather Broich.
