Over 10,000 pumpkins in Akazienstraße
Akazienstraße is one of Schöneberg's best-known shopping streets between Hauptstraße and Grunewaldstraße, lined with cafés, boutiques, and small shops. On the first weekend of October, it is closed to traffic and transformed into a festive autumn mile. The focus is on pumpkins: around 10,000 pieces in at least 20 varieties, from classic Hokkaido to Butternut, Spaghetti Squash, Patisson, and rare giant varieties like Atlantic Giant. In addition, there are rides, carousels, a stage program, arts and crafts, and food stalls.
The festival is being organized for the 27th time (first edition 1999). The organizer is Berlin Stadtservice in cooperation with the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office. Program highlights 2026: wine tasting with German vintners (Pfalz, Mosel, Franken), live music on two stages, face painting and craft activities for children, pumpkin carving activities.
