The New Castle Tettnang

The New Castle Tettnang was built in 1712 after the fire of the previous building by the Vorarlberg master builder Christoph Gessinger — a typical southern German Baroque castle with a spacious four-wing complex around a courtyard. Until 1779, it was the residence of the Counts of Montfort, then it passed to Habsburg and finally to the Grand Duchy of Baden. Today, it is one of Tettnang's landmarks and a concert hall for events like the Castle Courtyard Serenade.

Tettnang — the Hop City on Lake Constance

Tettnang is located in the northern district of Bodenseekreis, approx. 8 km northeast of Friedrichshafen. With around 19,600 inhabitants, it is the former residence of the Counts of Montfort and the center of the Tettnang hop-growing region — one of the four German hop-growing regions. Tettnang hops are internationally valued in the brewing industry. Visitors to the concert can combine the evening with a walk through the historic old town or a visit to the Hop Farm.
