Wine Festival in the Castle Courtyard
The Schloss-Weinfest Oberschwarzach is one of the most atmospheric wine festivals on the edge of the Steigerwald forest. It is organized by the Festgemeinschaft Oberschwarzach in the courtyard of the listed Schloss Oberschwarzach (Kirchberg 11). Castle owner Guido Plener hosts the opening evening.
Three Festival Days with Wine and Tradition
The event kicks off on Saturday evening with the opening at 5 p.m. and the official ceremony at 7 p.m., featuring the market community's wine princess and her fellow wine royalty from the region. The Steigerwaldkapelle provides musical accompaniment for the opening evening.
On Sunday, from 3 p.m. onwards, it's time for coffee and cake, and from 5:30 p.m., the duo Babb Süaß plays live music in the castle courtyard. Monday features the VdK Seniors' Afternoon at 3 p.m.; from 5 p.m. the festival activities begin, from 6 p.m. there will be suckling pig from a wood-fired oven (pre-order required), and in the evening, party music with the *Dreimannband*.
Wines from the Steigerwald Wine Panorama
Oberschwarzach is located on the edge of the Steigerwald forest in the Schweinfurt district of Bavaria and is part of the Franconian wine-growing region. At the Schlossweinfest, wines from local vintners from the Steigerwald wine panorama are served – Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, and Franconian cuvées characterize the selection.
Schloss Oberschwarzach
The late Baroque castle is a striking landmark of the market town. The charming castle courtyard with its garden provides the ideal backdrop for the wine festival – rolling vineyards, the nearby Steigerwald forest, and the imposing castle create the atmospheric setting for the three festival days.
Who is it for?
- Lovers of Franconian wines and atmospheric castle settings
- Connoisseurs of regional specialties (suckling pig, coffee and cake)
- Families with parents looking for a relaxed Sunday wine festival
