«Homeland with many facets» — three days of city festival with a parade on Saturday, 4 stages, bands, artists, and DJs from June 26 to 28, 2026
Schkeuditz — the district town north of Leipzig between Leipzig/Halle Airport and the A 9, with around 18,000 inhabitants and the famous Schkeuditzer Kreuz motorway junction — celebrates the 33rd edition of its Stadtfest from Friday, June 26, to Sunday, June 28, 2026. The city center between the train station, Bahnhofstraße, and Rathausplatz will become a festival mile for three days. The organizer is the district town of Schkeuditz, supported by numerous local clubs and with the assistance of DHL Hub Leipzig and Stadtwerke Schkeuditz as main sponsors.
The musical program is spread across four stages: bands from Schkeuditz, Leipzig, and Saxony-Anhalt, solo artists, DJs, and family formats. The spectrum ranges from Schlager and pop cover bands to rock and electronic music, and children's music. Hands-on activities take place in squares and streets, local clubs present themselves at stalls, snack stands and drink vendors provide food and beverages, and a funfair with rides complements the festival grounds.
The highlight is the parade on Saturday, June 27, at 1:00 PM. Starting at Schkeuditz train station, along Bahnhofstraße to Rathausplatz. Motto 2026: «Homeland with Many Facets» — a theme that offers clubs, kindergartens, schools, social institutions, bands, companies, and engaged groups plenty of creative scope. Two moderation stages along the route will comment on the participating groups, their costumes, and floats. Registration for the parade by March 31, 2026, with the city administration.
Schkeuditz has an unusual location: on the northwestern city border of Leipzig, in close proximity to Leipzig/Halle Airport (one of Europe's largest cargo airports, home of the DHL Hub), and on the A 9. The city combines metropolitan infrastructure with small-town coziness. The Stadtfest is therefore a civic festival and a bridge to Leipzig at the same time — many Leipzig residents travel by S-Bahn (S 5 or S 5X from Leipzig Hbf, 15 minutes journey). Visitors can combine the festival with a visit to the Auwald nature reserve hike, the nearby Schladitzer See (former lignite mining landscape), or an airport tour.
The 33rd edition of the Schkeuditzer Stadtfest runs from Friday, June 26, to Sunday, June 28, 2026. Three days of program on 4 stages, a funfair with rides, and the traditional parade on Saturday afternoon form the framework. Free admission. Main sponsors: DHL Hub Leipzig and Stadtwerke Schkeuditz.
